Simon and BGT

although I have said I cannot stand this programme I seem to know everything about each act. and I can safely say that I do not like Amanda 'married to les dennis and thats why she is famous' Holden. how can she love every act, even when they are the worst on the show? its incredibly annoying!!!!! arrgggghhhhhh!!! but i do love Aidan, he can dance so well especially for his age, probably better than 'into the hoods' Sampson.
I have to red facedly admit, that I do infact have a severe crush on.... you guessed it Simon Cowell.

why wasn't there any poets on the show? thats the plan next year, I'm going on, to recite some poems that the Queen would love, probably including topics on Nazi costumes and 'the day a lady Died'.

My new shorts went for a spin today out in the sun, very happy with my 15 squid bargin, teamed with a belt stolen from my mummy, and a primark boob tube!!

controversy or not???

I'm really excited to have been accepted into the line up for Canbury arts festival, its a thames community run organisation and it has just recently been started. i just read that i will be performing in the vicarage garden, little bit concerned as to what poems are acceptable with such an audience....

child soldiers

The Invisible Children charity are making people aware of the struggles that young children in Uganda face each and everyday. The Rescue of Joseph Kony's child soldiers started when 3 students went to Uganda on a film making expedition, not knowing that they were going to discover some horrific and tragic truths involving children, guns and mass murdering, to take a further look go to
www.invisiblechildren.com/home.php

I got the chance to perform a poem alongside my friend Sammi.  The responses we received were really good and the atmosphere was relaxed with one of the members from the charity, singing along with his band. making this night very enjoyable and highlighting such an important and relatively un-recognised charity.

23 oh no no no!!!

i'm being a big baby because i dont want to get any older!! but had a quality weekend bumming around the sights and sounds of Lundan Tahhhnn! on saturday i met my mum and sister and two scampy nephews Callum and Archie. they were both very excitable and were literally running up the buildings in a 'singing in the rain' stylee.

we went for a walk along the river and headed to the london borough market, to drink apple and cinnamon juice. we then looked at the globe theatre and headed to St Pauls, by this point i could barely walk, my hips had seized and my feet hurt hard!!

on sunday me and two friends roamed around bricklane after a very long bus journey, the weather was sunny and we were stuck on top of a double decker, we were a little annoyed, but my 23rd was spent with quality mates and good banter. brought myself a vintage jumper and skirt and then a cutesy flowery scarf, i'll put photos up later. and it all cost £22.50, very happy with my birthday money purchases!!

maybe 23 isn't too bad??!!!

abandoned poems

i've got a habit of abandoning poems. i'll write it, then can't think of ways to improve it, so just leave it cast aside like some smelly toeless sock. The following poem is going to be one of these problems. does it need anything more?

making the film! lol!

I headed to Ealing college last Thursday and got excited pretending I was going to real TV studios. to be fair the college was beautiful and really clean, and the studios did look very professional. i was second up behind a very talented guy called Ben, he clearly had performed a number of times before and i had the very tricky job of following him. my first attempt at reading my poem of by heart went quite poorly, i soon stumbled over the next stanza but the second attempt went a lot better until the directors phone went off! the third time had another interuption and it wasn't until the 4th take that we got a clear cut.
I had also eaten a flapjack and soon became paranoid when they started doing close-ups; i was positive i had bits in between my teeth so then cocked up my poem by ad-libing but luckily it went by unnoticed.
we have to go back for a second filming but i have yet to discover what this will entail.
the only thing negative i will say about filming is that you get very hot and shiny under the lighting!!!!

Jeremy Kyle at the Albany!?????

Apples and Snakes at the Albany was a quality night, i went with a fellow poet Sammi Joy and sat knocking back a rather bitter white wine as i awaited my turn to the mic. Sammi stepped up with courage having already been a couple of times before, she did have the smell of whiskey and water following her but she was confident and delivered well.
the second part came and i nervously downed another glass, by this time i was lucky that i could still see the poem on the page.
i read my most favourite poem about Jeremy Kyle (not directly about him), why do we all aspire to be so similar to the characters on his grotty, self-righteous programme?

i received a warm reception and then was asked to be filmed for one of the fellow poets media film. was extremely exciting considering that it was the first time i had properly performed.

Repetition!!!!!

oh gosh it has been so long since I posted last that I repeated myself!!!! The shame!!! Sorry!!

I am currently reading a story a day (well a story every toilet time) from the book 'The most beautiful woman in town' by Charles Bukowski. I literally cant think of anything else other than how incredible his imagination is, for a good couple of hours after finishing the last paragraph.

I recently did my first reading of poetry, I have been meaning to do it for a long time, actually since my nose job in January of last year, but I have been extremely lazy or just lacking confidence in my work.

Words and sounds was hosted by Ashley Morgan, a true Welshy and went really well with a good number of people turning out. It seems quite obvious that more and more people are appreciating poetry as an art form and not as just lines of shit metaphors and useless adjectives. whoop whoop!!!

The following is one of my more recent poems; for someone on Valentines day perhaps?

I was dancing on smokey puffs of condensation
His lips touched mine
And my toes pinched the air
My hair scattered the cushions
And for the first time in years
My Cunt smiled

I am so laterzzzz

I haven't posted a blog in a long time, heres a run down of what i have been upto;

Christmas of course. I am officially the scrooge of christmas past, present and possibly the future. I really hate this materialistic bullshit. I am agnostic but still believe that if you want to celebrate Jesus' birthday, do it properly! Church and giving small gifts without the intention of receiving.
But this is clearly the time to gorge on tasty treats and get fat!!! Hopefully the recession will sort this problem out.

Writing some kind of poetry, well not too much, I had far too many deadlines and too much hatred from one of my lecturers
"DON'T talk about your SEX-LIFE in your POETRY" true quote.

Surely we should have freedom of speech, but apparently not when it comes to my university course.

I had one exam on language and gender. Women have been seriously suppressed over the years through the use of language, not only used by men but women too. this particular subject i feel very strongly about, but then there is the argument too, that if everyone was to be PC the world would be boring and the English language less vibrant.......

The photo above shows the cardi I wore to the exam, it didn't help though.....
